The Hong Kong Jockey Ckub Restart Programme is, in my opinion, one of the worlds leading Retraining Programme. It was an absolute honour to speak to Joss about the Restart Programme and what the steps are that happen to the horses when they leave racing and how the horses future post racing is even thought about before they enter the country to race.

This fabulous scheme, not only has 100% traceability on their horses when they leave racing, but they reach out on a global scale to trusted and reputable retrainers, ensuring that the horses have their security and happiness for the rest of their lives secured.

Please share this conversation far and wide. The RESTART programme is truly remarkable and I feel that more should know about it, learn from it and praise the phenomenal work that they are doing

The Galloping Bear affectionately known as Bear, beat Bristol de Mai at the Grand National trials in his racing career. Fast forward a few years and this superstar of a racehorse is now head to the BIGGEST of stages in the showing world of Horse of the Year Show.

The journey from racehorse to Show Horse hasn’t been the most straight forward, but this conversation with Issy talks about how to navigate life with an ex racehorse, listening to your horse and how sometimes, the best plan, is to have no plan

We wish Issy and Bear THE BEST of luck at HOYS (Along with former guests of the pod Becky Court) and will be cheering you all the way.

In this episode we are joined by the wonderful Sara Ender. Sara is a racehorse trainer based in Yorkshire. She trains both on the flat and over the jumps. Her training philosophy and set up is insightful and is very much an individual approach for each horse. Sara is competing at the RoR champs on a horse that only ran a few weeks ago and will carry on in training post the RoR champs, and this isnt the first time Sara has done this.

We are so grateful to Sara for sharing her isights and wish her the best at Aintree and in her training career. Her open day is Sunday 6th September 2026 from 845am-12.

In this episode we have Kathryn Martin. Kathryn works in racing and gets to not only see and ride these horses whilst in training, but also gets to train them post racing and compete them for her boss.

This is a wonderful insight into how training develops and changes according to what the horse is doing and really focusing on not only the physical preparation of both horse and rider, but also the mental aspect as well. A must listen

We are looking at; the fears, the possible worries, the fun and the why as to everything surrounding the RoR Champs and hope you find this insightful, entertaining and a lovely way for people to share their stories

If you’re interested in further details of the RoR Champs and National Racehorse Week, the details can be found below.

This might seem like a slightly odd question surrounding the topic of 'everything thoroughbred.'

How we cope, deal and work through certain situations and occurrences with our horses is key to being able to find learnings and positive outcomes from moments of when we feel; frustrated, overwhelmed and unsure of our confidence
