Zak STAYS a vampire hipster pop radio hater! with this week's pick, Modern Vampires of the City, Album Club's second Vampire Weekend album to date. I still was not a huge fan, especially fazed by the dichotomy of their "English major" identities and terrible writing, supposed authenticity and seeming sense of superiority.

What's gooooood? This week's album, with GC continuing and wrapping up our Tyler trilogy with Igor by Tyler the Creator! Different yet again from both Wolf and Flower Boy, there are still new sounds and new emotions to be found in this Tyler album. This album made some look forward to seeing what else Tyler may come to bring and some look back to the summer of 2019. Join us for another great Album Club as we wrap up our Tyler arc.

For our second week of Tyler I picked Wolf, awooooooo! This album is a transitionary one in which Tyler begins experimenting with new sounds, new themes, and new moods in his songs, and is a great reflection of Tyler himself changing as his life changes. A little messy but full of love, loss, and sincerity, it's an album that's warmed up to me with some songs that are all time faves.

Important to Iisha's development as well as mine, defined an era 2010s, beautiful chill, soul-ish and introspective, a shifting period for Tyler, giga-California music, formative, some were not enjoyers, but let's go, Flower Boy.

Jamil is back with the musicals, this time picking Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda! Coming in as the longest pick in Album Club history, join us for our deep dive into perhaps THE musical of a generation and everything that makes it great, bad, cringe, and fun, featuring once again our special guest Becca.

Continuing Scott's New Jersey arc, we listened to Slippery When Wet by Bon Jovi! 80's as hell and fun in crowds? Wooah living on a prayer baby.

SURPRISE! It's week two of King Gizz, and this week Zak has chosen an album completely different from last week's, highlighting the eclectic diversity in the KGLW sound! Paper Mache Dream Balloon by KG&tLW is a great calm album that sounds the way a sunny day smells. I was a great fan of this album that some called "better Beatles" and others "medieval bard music".

GC's pick for the week is Nonagon Infinity by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard! This massive band brings a uniquely mixed hard rock album to us this week, as well as Derek! our special guest and massive King Gizzard fan!
