  • Are Ferrari In This Fight?
    2026/07/09

This week on Ahead At The Apex, we take a look at the recent turn of pace of Formula 1's most successful team - Ferrari. We recorded this just before the British Grand Prix, and it turns out that our resident F1 Delusionist - Josh - predicted Charles would win the British GP in this very recording. Don't tell him, it'll only go to his head. Anyway, we noticed that Ferrari and Red Bull seem to be making huge gains in performance towards the benchmark of Mercedes in recent races. At the same time, Mercedes seem to be just throwing points away with reliability issues. Championships have been won and lost on smaller events, can Ferrari's ultra-reliable package carry one of their drivers to a title?

    In This Week's Episode:

    • British Grand Prix Preview: We take a look ahead of the British Grand Prix just before it happened, did we get our predictions right?

    • Austrian Grand Prix: Was Russell's pole position lap really valid? Was it controversial? We give our take and look at the regulations.

    • Is Lewis Hamilton In The Fight?: Lewis has had quite the run of form lately, can be snatch points away from the unreliable Mercs before the summer break?

  • Old Guys Do It Best
    2026/07/01

This week we take a look at the recent championship turnaround we've had in both Formula 1 and MotoGP. As Kimi Antonelli suffers a retirement in Barcelona and as Marco Bezzecchi suffers a DNF in Hungary, the space was right there for two old timers of their sports to pick up the pieces. Lewis Hamilton takes his first win in red for Ferrari to move himself to second place in the championship and Marc Marquez returns to the top step following his surgery to take chunks of points out of the Aprilia boys. There's a reason these two are multiple world champions and it's because they keep themselves in the fight on days where they're not that special, and then when the time arises to take a win, they do everything they can to get the best out of their machinery. Old guys do it best.

    In this week's episode:

    • What the hell is going on at Ferrari: The F1 team has had such a turn around in performance lately, but the WEC team has suffered a huge drop-off in performance. Why?

    • But here comes Marquez: Just 4 weeks after double surgery on his shoulder and foot, the reigning champion is not only back on a bike, but back winning on a bike.

    • Lewis back on top: How did Ferrari manage to secure a win in Barcelona, and how did Lewis make the difference?

  • Absolute Chaos
    2026/06/24

Back on track this week and we are catching up with the Formula 1 - specifically the Monaco and Barcelona Grands Prix and all the chaos that has ensued over the last few weeks. Kimi Antonelli managed to become the youngest ever Monaco pole sitter and winner, but behind him mid-race penalties and post-race protests have caused quite the chaotic environment. Onto MotoGP next and Balaton Park turned into an Aprilia scrapyard at turn 1 as Jorge Martin lost control of his RS-GP at the start of the Grand Prix, to then wipe out 4 other bikes. Absolute carnage, it's moments like this that define title challenges, and he knows it.

    In this week's episode:

    • Monaco GP Catchup: All the bits we missed from the Monaco Grand Prix.

    • Youngest Winners: Join us for another game, this time it's guess the youngest Monaco GP winners - no cheating!

    • Aprilia Fall Apart: Jorge Martin initiates a huge Aprilia wipeout at turn 1 and the team is starting to fall apart.

  • George vs Kimi: The Silver War pt.2
    2026/06/11

The battle between the Mercedes drivers is really heating up. The Canadian Grand Prix was a demonstration that Toto is happy to let them battle as long as they don't make contact. George showed Kimi the door in the sprint, but in the Grand Prix reliability struck. Join us this week as we discuss George's championship hopes, his strop at the end of his race, and how he can bounce back.

  • Motorsport Needs Rivalries
    2026/06/03

Formula 1 and MotoGP have felt a bit stagnant over the last couple of years. Starting with Formula 1, the Max Verstappen ere, while impressive to watch, felt inevitable because there was no one to challenge him. He was racing against the clock, against the records, and against himself. Similarly MotoGP in 2025 felt much the same, it was inevitable that Marc Marquez was going to win the race, it was just a matter of when. This year, however, we seem to have rivalries everywhere. Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi are building towards an inter-team rivalry, as are George Russell and Kimi Antonelli, fighting for a world championship between themselves. A little further back, it seems Diggia and Acosta may have started something in Le Mans.

    In this week's episode:

    • MotoGP Roundup: All the bits we missed from Le Mans and Barcelona.

    • Junior Teams: Are junior teams really junior anymore?

    • Rivalries in Motorsport: Some of the best rivalries vs what we have now.

  • MotoGP's Lucky Escape
    2026/05/27

MotoGP had a lucky escape in Barcelona - 2 riders in hospital, 3 riders who shouldn't have gotten back on the bike, 2 restarts, an out of control bike flying across the track, and a safety commission that couldn't care less. As a community, we should look back on this as the moment we changed how safety is approached. The FIM need to step in and make the changes that stop dangerous accidents before they can happen.

    In this week's episode:

    • The Race: The race was a tense thriller from start to finish, without the crash it would have been insane.

    • MotoGP Safety Through the Years: A look back at some of the more recent incidents in MotoGP.

    • Alex Marquez's Huge Crash: The carnage that the crash brought hasn't been seen in a long time.

  • Kimi Antonelli will be the 2026 F1 Champion
    2026/05/20

This week on Ahead At The Apex, we take a good look at the new-age FIA, the listening FIA, the progressive FIA; yep, that's right, we're discussing the changes to the 2026 F1 regulations and how it has had an impact on the racing. But don't worry, the main chunk of this podcast is actually focused on our current championship leader - Andrea Kimi Antonelli. The Mercedes man just can't stop winning at the moment and it's impressive to see. He's broken a huge amount of records in his short run in Formula 1, so far, and we're going to take a good look at them and why we think he could be Mercedes' first champion since Lewis Hamilton in 2020.

    In this week's episode:

    • The FIA Are Listening: The FIA are actually listening to fans, drivers, teams, manufacturers, and Formula 1; if you think that's odd, so do we.

    • Miami Grand Prix: Tim rants about how inconvenient and pointless it was to rearrange the Miami Grand Prix start time.

    • Kimi The Goat: Why Kimi Antonelli will become the 2026 F1 World Champion.
