In this episode, I start by making it crystal clear that I'm not here to shove doctrine or dogma down anyone's throat. I believe Christianity has fallen on hard times because we've become obsessed with certainty when we should be focused on honest, authentic, mountain climbing love. So I begin with my personal "Love's Creed," a reminder that I'm alive to love, unavailable for anything less, and I offer it to you as a simple tool for your own spiritual toolbox, no strings attached.

I share a personal story about my father being denied the chance to teach Sunday school because of a previous marriage, and how that broke his heart. That experience has fueled my passion for this conversation because I know the anxiety so many of us feel when we walk in church doors, wondering what will be expected of us and whether we'll measure up. I'm asking us to work out our love factor instead of our doctrinal checklist, and to approach spirituality on the basis of love and love alone.

I'm inviting you to rediscover the radical message of Jesus, not a biblical movement that demands we all agree on the same interpretations, but a movement that looks like Jesus and the revolutionary love he lived. I want us to have thoughtful adult conversations about LGBTQ issues, about loving our Islamic neighbors, about loving our enemies, including our doctrinal ones. Love is a gigantic uncertain path, and I believe it's the only path to a valuable and beautiful spirituality.

So I'm challenging you to join me in this grand, wild pursuit of love. Stop thinking you still have time. Be present, be kind, love more, love now. I'm inviting you to say those three holy, wise, magical words "I love you" with real commitment, and to manage your life with love rather than trying to manage others into duplicates of yourself. It's a wild ride, uncertain but beautiful, and I'm honored to have you on this journey with me.
