This time, Mark checks himself straight into Woodward Penitentiary and unpacks his rain-soaked briefcase of curiosities in a desperate attempt to escape the padded-cell fever dream that is Gothika (2003). Prepare to trip on the trope rope as we psychoanalyse the twisted minds of the writers, marvel at the sudden career pivot from axe-wielding inmate to freelance ghost detective, and figure out why this movie throws all logic right out the reinforced window. In this mid 00s mystery where the plot holes leak even faster than the non-stop rainstorm, you’ll be needing a jet ski just to wade through the third act!"
