Lindsay Clancy Case – Part 2 | After Dark True Crime

In Part 2 of the Lindsay Clancy case, we continue exploring one of the most heartbreaking and controversial criminal cases in recent American history.

In January 2023, Lindsay Clancy was accused of killing her three young children, Cora, Dawson and Callan, in their Massachusetts home. As the investigation unfolded, the case raised difficult questions about maternal mental health, postpartum psychiatric illness, the healthcare system, and whether more could have been done to recognise and respond to a serious mental health crisis.

In this episode of After Dark, we take a closer look at the investigation, the legal proceedings, the arguments surrounding Lindsay's mental state, and the questions that continue to divide public opinion. We also discuss the support available to Lindsay before the tragedy and the wider concerns about how families experiencing severe mental health crises receive help.

Was this a tragedy that could have been prevented? Were warning signs missed? And how should the justice system approach a case involving such devastating loss and complex mental health questions?

These are difficult questions, and there are no easy answers. This episode separates confirmed facts from allegations, legal arguments and public speculation, while remembering the three young lives at the centre of this case.

Join me for Part 2 as we continue looking beyond the headlines and examining the questions that remain.

🌙 Welcome to After Dark — where we look deeper, question the details, and explore the stories that stay with us long after the cameras stop rolling.

Content warning: This episode discusses child death, suicide-related events and severe mental illness.

AFTER DARK | The Lindsay Clancy Case: A Mother, Three Children & The Questions That Remain

🖤 Welcome back to After Dark.

On January 24, 2023, a tragedy unfolded inside a family home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, that would shock the world and spark a difficult conversation about motherhood, mental health, and criminal responsibility.

Lindsay Clancy, a labour and delivery nurse and mother of three, was accused of killing her children: five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson, and eight-month-old Callan. All three children died, and Lindsay survived a serious suicide attempt that left her with life-changing injuries.

But as investigators pieced together what happened, a much bigger question emerged: Was this a case of deliberate murder, or did a severe psychiatric crisis play a role in an unimaginable tragedy?

Lindsay's defence argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and was not criminally responsible for her actions. Prosecutors argued that she understood what she was doing and should be held accountable.

In September 2026, after weeks of testimony and seven days of deliberations, the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict. A mistrial was declared, leaving the case without a final verdict.

In this episode of After Dark, we're looking at the timeline, Lindsay's reported mental health struggles, the evidence presented in court, the competing arguments, and the unanswered questions surrounding this heartbreaking case.

Because behind every headline are real people, a grieving family, and three little lives that deserve to be remembered.

⚠️ CONTENT WARNING: This episode discusses the deaths of children, suicide, and severe mental health struggles. Viewer discretion is advised.
