  • 75. AuDHD Burnout and Simple Ways to Support Recovery
    2026/06/07

In this solo episode, Johanna explores the often-overlooked experience of AuDHD burnout, including why so many neurodivergent women find themselves feeling "tired but wired."

Drawing on both her professional experience as a psychologist and her own lived experience, Johanna shares how burnout can develop gradually through years of overcompensating, pushing through exhaustion, ignoring capacity, and relying on motivation to carry us further than our nervous systems can comfortably sustain.

Using the metaphor of energy debt, she explores how many ADHD and AuDHD women unknowingly borrow energy from their future selves, only to find the bill eventually arrives in the form of exhaustion, overwhelm, sensory sensitivity, emotional reactivity, and reduced capacity.

    In this episode, you'll learn:

✨ What AuDHD burnout can look like in everyday life.

✨ Why burnout often develops even when you're doing things you genuinely love.

✨ The difference between feeling energised and overextending yourself.

✨ How ADHD impulsivity and novelty-seeking can contribute to energy debt.

✨ Common signs your nervous system may be carrying more than it can sustainably manage.

✨ Simple ways to support recovery, including rest, capacity planning, gentle movement, accommodation, connection, and rediscovering joy.

  • 74. Neurodivergent relationships, Sensory Needs & Sex with Hilary Lindberg
    2026/05/19

In this episode of ADHD Her Way, Johanna sits down with sexologist and therapist Hilary Lindberg for a nuanced and honest conversation about sexuality, intimacy, ADHD, Autism, desire, and relationships.

Together, they unpack the myths many neurodivergent individuals grow up believing about sex and intimacy, and explore how sensory needs, communication styles, emotional safety, and nervous system regulation can deeply shape sexual wellbeing.

This episode also explores the impact of shame, perfectionism, masking, religious trauma, low desire, vaginismus, infidelity recovery, and the pressure many people feel to fit into rigid “sexual scripts.”

If you’ve ever felt “different” in the way you experience intimacy, desire, stimulation, or connection, this conversation is a deeply validating listen. 💛

    • ADHD, Autism, and sexual stimulation
    • The difference between desire and arousal
    • Sensory sensitivities and intimacy
    • Why planning intimacy can actually help ADHD relationships
    • Asexuality and low desire
    • Religious trauma and shame around sex
    • Communication and flexibility in relationships
    • Rebuilding intimacy after betrayal or burnout
    • “Good enough sex” and removing perfectionism from intimacy
    • Supporting neurodivergent relationships with compassion and curiosity

    Sexual wellbeing is not one-size-fits-all.
Understanding your nervous system, sensory profile, communication needs, and relationship dynamics can help create more fulfilling and connected experiences, especially for neurodivergent individuals.

  • 73. The Real Reason Brilliant Neurodivergent Therapists Stay Stuck
    2026/05/07

In this episode, Johanna dives into the behind-the-scenes realities of building offers as a neurodivergent therapist, and the real reasons so many brilliant professionals struggle with follow through.

Drawing from her own experiences launching webinars, courses, podcasting programs and online groups, she shares the biggest mistakes she made early on, especially trying to do too much at once.

Johanna explores the tension many therapists feel between wanting to create meaningful work beyond the therapy room… while also feeling overwhelmed, overextended and unsure where to start.

    Inside the episode, she covers:

    • The biggest mistakes therapists make when launching courses or offersWhy trying to market on every platform can dilute your message
    • The pressure neurodivergent therapists often place on themselves to “perfect” things before launching
    • How overcomplicating offers can overwhelm both you and your audience
    • The ADHD tendency to either overcommit or stay stuck refining ideas forever
    • Why body doubling, accountability and support can make such a difference
    • The importance of building around your actual capacity, not your idealised capacity
    • Why small, simple and sustainable often works better than building a giant business ecosystem overnight

Johanna also reflects on what she would do differently if she was starting again, including focusing on one clear offer, one clear message and a more sustainable way of contributing.

This episode is for psychologists, therapists and neurodivergent professionals who know they have more to offer… but want to do it in a way that actually works for their brain.

✨ Johanna also shares more about her upcoming 4 week intensive designed to help neurodivergent therapists shape one idea into a clear, aligned offer with support, accountability and ADHD-friendly follow through.
