Whilst crossing the Davis Strait from Greenland to Baffin Island, Mark manages to catch up with Professor David Drewry, a leading polar scientist, former Director of the British Antarctic Survey and a Chief Scientific Advisor at the UK Commission for UNESCO.
David has led expeditions to the Arctic and worked extensively in Antarctica. He has been awarded the Polar Medal by HM Queen Elizabeth, and has a mountain and a glacier named after him in Antarctica.
David has an unparalleled expertise in climate science, geophysics and glaciology, and he regularly shares that expertise on expedition ships to inspire people to understand, and to care for the polar environment.
