Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.
What does it look like to embrace God’s design for women within marriage?
In this episode, I talk about three feminine attributes that can help us grow into our role as wives: nurturing, being receptive and attractive to our husbands, and offering encouragement rather than criticism or control.
God created men and women differently, with strengths that can complement one another in marriage. As wives, we do not have to compete with our husbands, carry every burden ourselves, or operate from fear. We can choose faith in God’s design and trust Him to work in both us and our husbands.
We will talk about:
- Why men and women have different God-given strengths and roles
- What it means to be a help meet in marriage
- The importance of nurturing your husband without controlling or smothering him
- How negative thoughts, resentment, and unforgiveness can affect closeness in marriage
- Why emotional, physical, and mental receptivity matters
- A simple exercise to shift your focus from your husband’s faults to the things you appreciate about him
- Why encouragement is powerful and criticism can create long-term damage
- Moving from fear, control, and competition toward faith, support, and partnership
- Trusting God to shape your marriage through the work of the Holy Spirit
Marriage is not meant to be a competition. It is meant to be a union: two different people, with different gifts and responsibilities, working together as one under God.
If you have found yourself feeling fearful, critical, disconnected, controlling, or burnt out in your marriage, this episode is an invitation to bring those things to Jesus. God can change our hearts, renew our minds, and help us become wives who nurture, encourage, and strengthen our marriages.
