Arizona State Sun Devils gear up for a pivotal showdown against Baylor as DJ Lagway’s injury status raises major questions. Despite Baylor’s struggles with a limited Lagway and an inconsistent showing against Colorado, the Sun Devils’ elite defense—anchored by standout CJ Fite and rising star Jalen Thompson—looks poised to dictate the pace in the trenches. Can ASU capitalize on Baylor’s vulnerability up front and shut down key weapons like Gavin Freeman?

Phil and Parker Porrill spotlight ASU’s defensive resurgence, the impact of high-leverage players from Kenny Dillingham’s original recruiting class, and the crucial leadership CJ Fite brings during a brutal nine-week gauntlet. With the schedule intensifying and key conference road tests looming, the Sun Devils’ depth and discipline—especially in limiting costly penalties—could be the difference-maker. Are the Sun Devils’ defensive performances enough to propel them through the toughest stretch in college football?
