Joy is such an incredicle emotion and one that should be felt more often. I often think sometimes we feel that its wrong to feel Joyful when all around us things are going wrong. But I am not talking about a joy that comes from going on the next vacation, or buying the next cool toy. I am talking about a peaceful joy that feels your heart and causes you to clap for joy. For me those feelings come when I am aligning myself to the Lords will, when the Joy is actually just a feeling a peace and contentment. When we can hold onto that, there is a level of trust and safty and knowing that God Has our back. I challenge you to search for the Joy by talking to with God and aligning with him.

A Higher Joy

As we not only anchor ourselves in Christ, we need to Anchor Up to Christ. As we intentionally throw our anchor up to Christ he grabs onto it and he will hold it forever. We make any step towards him he is 100% all in and will stay all in. Once we throw our anchor up and stay with our rope and trust that rope and the knots that are provided on that rope we can believe that it will hold us. The knots up the rope are there for us to rest and to know that someone has us the whole time. But anytime we want to move up to the next knot it is going to take effort and intention. But as we keep moving up, our perspective changes, we start to see, belive, and trust more. There is always hope when we choose to look up and Anchor to our Savior.

Eve often gets bad rap for being the first one to partake of the fruit in the Garden of Eden, but have you ever thought it was one of the most wise, courageous choices she could have ever made. I know and believe that she was called to partake of it and Adams supporting decision to partake of the fruit made it possible for all of us to be here today. Without both of their choices we would not be here. This teaches me that without Eve families would never be eternal and without Adam families would not be eternal. It took BOTH of them to partake of the fruit. This principle alone teaches us about the importance of a husband and a wife, (marriage) we can't do it alone. One point I do talk about is, is we don't know how soon after Adam partook of the fruit once Eve partook of the fruit. It could have been minuets or it could have been years, but learning to be patient with our spouse as we grow together is so important.

A Higher Joy

How we speak to ourselves is so important. There are many things that we can always be doing better that is a fact but we shouldn't be beating ourselves up about it all day. We are mortal humans expected to make mistakes and when we finally understand that, we come to understand that all we are doing in learning and growing and becoming better if we choose to. There are a few phrases in this podcast that could be helpful in trying to apply if you do struggle with positive self talk. When we start to speak to ourselves in a more positive tone we start to be more positive.

I believe we have cut ourselves short of all that we are capable of doing as human beings. As children of God we have so much to offer when we can tap into our abundance mindset. When we accept Grace and finally believe that we are deserving of something is when we can really understand that God is good. He wants to bless us, he wants us to see that there is more then enough to go around. He tells us to fear not and be believing. If we can believe this simple concept and accept that it works for us we can change the world.

Agency is a gift from God and the best thing about it is that we agreed to it in the beginning. We chose to have agency, we wanted it despite the hardship that we would face. We agreed to abuse, loss of a child, cancer, poor relationships, drugs, drinking, infedelity, neglect, the list goes on. We chose it knowing and TRUSTING that God would be by our side the whole time. We even celebrated it. We knew God so well that he would never turn his back on us. God is not finished with us yet, when often times we think we should have been given up on. He still has time to mold us lik clay.

Have you ever thought that life is a lot like pregnancy? We grow week by week, we develop and change every single day, and every single day is important, because those days change into weeks, and if we were to stop developing we would die literally and spirtually, mentally, and socially. We need to be patient in our growth especially when we don't see the end. Often times we think we deserve or need more knowledge now when we haven't even learned the basics. Learning in phases and cycles is important because that is the only way we can progress.
