  • 256. Quiet Faithfulness - What If We Have "Impact" All Wrong? A Conversation with Gramma Rose

When I sat down to record this conversation with my grandma, I thought we were going to talk about being present with people and creating a home marked by hospitality. And while we absolutely talk about those things, this conversation became so much more than I expected.

As we talked, I realized this episode is really about living an intentional life that chases after the heart of Jesus. It's about faithfully saying "yes" to the people, opportunities, and moments God places right in front of us every single day.

Our culture constantly tells us that if we want to make an impact, we need to think bigger, do more, build a platform, or make our lives louder. But this conversation reminded me that God's Kingdom often works in the exact opposite way. The greatest impact is often found in quiet faithfulness.

My grandma has spent her life living with open hands, an open home, and an open heart. She shares wisdom about hospitality, obedience, generosity, and what it looks like to trust God with the ordinary moments of life. Her story is a beautiful reminder that when we're faithful in the small things, God is faithful to use them for a much bigger purpose than we could ever imagine.

I walked away from this conversation encouraged, challenged, and inspired, and I truly believe you will too.

In this episode, we talk about:

    • What biblical hospitality really looks like
    • Living an intentional life centered on Jesus
    • Why faithfulness matters more than recognition
    • Finding purpose in the everyday moments
    • The eternal impact of simple obedience
    • Wisdom from a life well lived
    • Trusting God to multiply our ordinary "yeses"

If this episode encourages you, I'd love for you to share it with a friend, leave a review, or send it to someone who needs the reminder that God often does His greatest work through our everyday faithfulness.

If Ezekiel walked into your life and asked, “Can these bones live?”, what would you say? We sit with one of the most haunting scenes in Scripture, Ezekiel 37 and the Valley of Dry Bones.

If you feel discouraged or far from God, hear this clearly: He’s not asking you to fake it, He’s inviting you to come back and let Him breathe life into you again.
