Train up a child in the way they should go and when they get older they shall not depart from it. We live in a world where teaching is emphasized over training. Training requires action. Football teams practice recognition drills to train their players their assignments. When they move from practice to the actual game they know exactly what is expected of them.

In this world we need to train up our children. Furthermore, we need to train up young men to be fathers. Gordon May, the head of Kairos Ministries, an evangelical outreach to evangelize prisoners, is interviewed in this podcast.

Gordon was a former fullback who played football for UNC a the same time Lawrence Taylor was on the team. LT and Gordon went head to head many times in practice. According to Gordon, he was the reason LT left college early to go to the NY Giants. In his heyday, Gordon was known as "Big Play". Now he is no longer a mustached Fu Manchu football star running the big play for UNC. He is running the Big Play for the Lord, meeting men who need to be set free the most to come to Jesus.

This is the second ministry dealing with prisoners that The Father's Heart podcast has had on the show. God is moving in the lowest socio-economic realms of America to bring the Good News to set the captives free, just like He did when they handed Him the book of Isaiah when he began His ministry in Nazareth 2,000 years ago.
