It’s very easy to assume that when your practice needs more clients, the answer is more marketing.
Post more. Run some ads. Pay someone for SEO. Try another platform. Finally work out what the heck you’re supposed to be doing on TikTok.
But what if marketing isn’t actually the thing you need to fix?
Because getting more people to notice your practice doesn’t necessarily mean more of them will become clients, particularly if there are problems elsewhere in the business.
And sometimes, more marketing simply sends more people into a system that isn’t working particularly well.
In this episode of The Abundant Practitioner, I’m looking at the things I’d want working properly before putting more time or money into marketing.
Some of them are incredibly simple. Some are probably costing practices far more clients than they realise. And one of your most valuable marketing assets might already be sitting inside your business doing very little at all.
I also talk about when I would consider investing in paid marketing, because I'm certainly not anti-marketing. But I do think we need to stop treating it like a magic lever we can pull whenever client numbers are down.
Because paid marketing can amplify what's already working.
It can't resuscitate a practice that struggling.
If you've been wondering whether you need to do more marketing, this episode might give you a very different place to start.
