  • Voss under pressure, Origin decider, Lions tour, Wimbeldon
    2025/07/03

Carlton coach Michael Voss says he’s unfazed by speculation over his future and has called on fans to pack the MCG for Friday’s clash with Collingwood. The Blues sit three wins outside the top eight.

Despite injury concerns, Payne Haas, Brian To’o and Hudson Young are expected to be fit for the Origin decider, with Connor Watson downplaying their absence from training.

The British and Irish Lions made it two wins from two, crushing the Reds 52-12 at Suncorp ahead of their series opener against the Wallabies.

And Jordan Thompson is into Wimbledon’s third round after a five-set win over Benjamin Bonzi.

  • Maroons Origin bolter, SCG turf war, Piastri's close calls
    2025/06/30

Gehamat Shibasaki will debut for Queensland in next week’s State of Origin decider, with coach Billy Slater calling his selection an inspiring story. The 26-year-old returned to Brisbane this year on a train-and-trial deal.

The AFL will decide later this week if the SCG is fit to host Sunday’s Swans-Dockers game, after damage from an Andrea Bocelli concert raised concerns.

Oscar Piastri finished second behind McLaren teammate Lando Norris at the Austrian GP, surviving two close calls. He now leads the drivers’ championship by 15 points.

  • Aussies back Green, NRL controversy, Jamarra's return clouded, Gout flies in Ostrava
    2025/06/25

The Aussies are sticking with Cameron Green at number three for the first Test against the West Indies in Barbados. Skipper Pat Cummins says Green’s double failure in the Test Championship Final at Lord’s was just an aberration. Josh Inglis will bat at four in place of the injured Steve Smith.

NRL boss Andrew Abdo has defended the ARL Commission’s contentious move to give itself the power to overrule the match review committee. Abdo says the special powers will only be applied in the event of a major error.

Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge says the return of Jamarra Ugle-Hagan to the side is still a long way off. The former number one draft pick returned to the club last week after taking personal leave.

Aussie sprint sensation Gout Gout lived up to the hype in his first race in Europe. The 17-year-old bettered his national record for the 200 metres at the Golden Spike meet in Ostrava, winning in 20.02 seconds.

Australia’s new batting order for Thursday’s first Test in Barbados is still unclear, with Josh Inglis yet to learn his spot.

    2025/06/23

The Oklahoma City Thunder, formerly the Seattle Supersonics, have claimed their first NBA title. They beat the Indiana Pacers 103-91 in Game 7, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander earning Finals MVP. Indiana lost star Tyrese Haliburton to a torn Achilles early in the game.

In the NRL, Parramatta’s 36-2 win over the Titans was soured by suspensions: Ryley Smith (2 games) and Will Penisini (3 games) for lifting tackles.
