  • Everest barrier draw, Kevin Walters clarifies, International Friendly

    Hong Kong wonder horse Ka Ying Rising will jump from barrier 7 in Saturday’s 20 million dollar Everest at Royal Randwick in Sydney. Trainer David Hayes couldn’t be happier. Ka Ying Rising is an odds-on favourite for the world’s richest race on turf.

    Before flying to England for the rugby league Ashes, Kangaroos coach Kevin Walters made it clear won’t let state allegiances cloud his judgement, when it comes to team selections. A former coach of the Maroons and Broncos, Walters is close to a lot of the Queenslanders in the squad, including Reece Walsh.

    The Socceroos went down 2-1 to the United States, in their international friendly in Colorado. Jordan Bos put the Aussies in front, but goals from Haji Wright either side of half time secured victory for the Americans.

  • Walsh joins Kangaroos, Cats recruit Buckley, World Cup history

    The whirlwind continues for Broncos superstar Reece Walsh. The Clive Churchill medallist joined his new Kangaroo teammates and former Brisbane coach Kevin Walters in camp on Tuesday, ahead of the Ashes tour of England. The Aussies fly out on Wednesday morning, the first Test at Wembley is on Sunday week.

    Former Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley has joined Geelong as an assistant to Chis Scott. Buckley missed out on the head coaching job a the Demons to Steven King.

    And the tiny island nation of Cape Verde is off to the FIFA World Cup for the first time. A 3-nil win over Eswatini secured qualification for next year’s tournament, sparking wild celebrations. With just half a million people, Cape Verde's the second smallest nation to qualify for a World Cup behind Iceland.

    Australian captain Pat Cummins admits he’s unlikely to play in the First Ashes Test on November 21 in Perth. Cummins will resume running today and light bowling next week as he gradually steps up his recovery from a back injury.

    Alyssa Healy’s first One Day hundred in three years guided Australia to a historic run chase against co-hosts India at the Women’s World Cup. The Aussie skipper’s 142 off 107 deliveries was the cornerstone of their 3-wicket victory, lifting Australia back to the top of the standings.

  • Cummins' Ashes doubts, Rugby union warning, Bathurst 1000

    Pat Cummins appears almost certain to miss the first Ashes Test, and doubts are growing over whether he'll play any part at all in the series at all. The Aussie captain's latest scan showed his back injury is improving, but hasn't healed enough to resume bowling. The first Test in Perth begins November 21.

    The major international rugby unions - including Australia – are promising to ban anyone who joins the rebel competition R360 from playing internationals. Any player that signs with R360 with be banned from Tests and Rugby Sevens – that includes World Cups and the LA Olympics. A host of current Wallabies are considering offers from R360.

    Supercars young gun Matt Payne is eye his first Bathurst 1000 crown. The Kiwi will join forces with 5-time Bathurst winner Garth Tander.

  • Samoan debut for Haas, AFL trade period, The Everest

    When the NRL premiership party ends for Payne Haas, the Broncos hero will make his debut for Samoa in the Pacific Championships later this month. Samoa coach Ben Gardiner is thrilled to have the champion prop, who switched allegiances from the Kangaroos. Samoa begin their campaign against New Zealand in Auckland on Sunday week.

  • Grand Final win, Hands off, Boiling point, Ange loses again

    The Broncos have arrived back in Brisbane after winning a thrilling NRL Grand Final against the Storm 26-22 in Sydney – their first since 2006. Reece Walsh put on one of the greatest individual performances in a decider to win the Clive Churchill Medal as best on ground. Walsh is in line to make his Australian Kangaroos debut after being named in the squad for the upcoming Ashes Tour.

    Essendon have once again ruled out trading disgruntled captain Zach Merrett to Hawthorn as the AFL Trade Period begins. Collingwood confirmed their interest in Melbourne midfielder Clayton Oliver.

    Tensions between Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are at boiling points after the McLaren teammates made contact on the opening lap of the Singapore Grand Prix. Piastri went on to finish fourth with Norris third, cutting his championship lead to 22 points. Mercedes’ George Russell won.

  • King sack Oliver, Dally M Medal, Aussie cricket double

    Steven King has made his first big call as coach of the Melbourne Demons, telling Clayton Oliver to find a new club. The 4-time best and fairest winner wanted to stay, but was told he didn’t fit into their midfield plans. James Tedesco is the NRL’s Dally M medallist for 2025.

    The Roosters captain finished 22 votes in front of runner-up Nathan Cleary to claim the coveted award for the second time. The 32-year-old will undergo stem cell surgery on his knee in the off-season, in a bid to prolong his career. The NRLW Dally M went to Broncos fullback Tamika Upton for the second time.

    Mitch Marsh powered Australia to a six-wicket win in game one of the Chappell-Hadlee T-20 series in New Zealand. Marsh made 85 from just 43 deliveries as the Aussies chased down their 182-run target with 21 balls to spare. And the Aussie women’s team started their title defence at the One-Day World Cup in India with an 89-run win over New Zealand. Ash Gardner made 115 off 83 balls.
