Go, mama, go! 🙃
Get the kids up. Get them dressed. Make breakfast. Get them to school. Work. Pick them up. Practice. Dinner. Homework. Baths. Bed.
And then maybe you finally get to breathe… or fall asleep on the couch… or pour yourself another glass of whatever you just told yourself you weren't going to have as much of. 😂
But what if your constant “go, go, go” isn't always just because you're a busy mom?
What if sometimes busy becomes a socially acceptable way to avoid what you don't want to feel?
In this episode of Her Healing Season, we're talking about hyper-vigilance, survival mode, burnout, and the uncomfortable reality that sometimes slowing down can feel harder than staying busy.
After leaving my husband, I went straight into single-mom survival mode. I worked 7 days a week, had 3 different jobs, side hustles, kids, a social life, and a calendar that never seemed to stop.
I thought I was just being strong.
I thought I had a great work ethic.
But God eventually showed me something I didn't realize at the time:
I wasn't just working hard. I was running.
Running from grief. Running from fear. Running from uncertainty. Running from the pain of what had happened. And, in some ways, even running from the peace and rest God was trying to give me.
In this episode, we'll talk about:
-
What hyper-vigilance can look like in everyday motherhood
-
Why rest can feel uncomfortable after prolonged stress
-
How “if I keep moving, I don't have to feel” can become a pattern
-
Why busy can become a form of avoidance
-
The connection between survival mode and the inability to slow down
-
What the Bible says about rest, including Matthew 11:28–29, Psalm 46:10, Mark 6:31, and Psalm 23
-
What “holy rest” can actually look like
-
Learning to sit quietly with your thoughts instead of immediately filling the silence
-
Why rest isn't laziness, weakness, or irresponsibility
-
How God taught me that I could do what He called me to do without carrying what He never asked me to carry
Because here's the thing, mama:
You were never created to live your entire life in survival mode.
There is a season to work. A season to move. A season to fight.
But there is also a season to be still.
Maybe your healing season begins when you finally stop running.
If you're a mom rebuilding your life after leaving a narcissistic husband and you're ready to stop surviving and begin rebuilding and restoring, I'd love to help you.

Go to Jesus. Go get quiet. Go heal. Go rest. Go process. Go surrender.
You don't have to spend the rest of your life running.
