Because 1 in 6 women experience it, and most think it'll NEVER happen to them.

Because I, a psychologist, was one of the 3 in 5 women who don't see it until AFTER they leave the relationship.

Because I've sat down with dozens of women who are experiencing the same things I did and they're NOT calling it financial abuse.

They're calling it:

"The economy's bad and he hasn't been able to find work."

"He's depressed and has a learning disorder that's made it hard for him to keep a job."

"We haven't been able to get out of debt despite me making good money."

"We constantly fight about money."

"He refuses to sit down with anyone other than his advisor."

Meanwhile, women are burning out under carrying the load of what they can't name as abuse because it doesn't fit the textbook definition.
