In this last message on "The Fire of God" we look at what transpired when the Disciples experienced God's Holy Presence in Acts 1-2.

As the disciples prepared for the fire they set themselves apart as a way of preparation for what God was going to do in their lives. After experiencing the presence of God they were moved to go into Jerusalem. The fire of God in a persons life will always move them from the seats of the church to the streets in the community.

The nation of Israel had gone after other god's particularly

Baal. In our life we have different god's that we look to find trust in, acceptance, and hope. Yes we still believe in God, but we believe that we need additional god's (without saying it that way) to truly be happy and hopeful.

Listen carefully to what the Fire of God did through this prophet Elijah. You may know the story but do you get the message. "Who is God?" is the message and the message is still "Who is Your God?"

Every time a person encounters the Fire of God it transforms who they are and it changes the direction of their life. The Fire of God is the presence of God in our lives. Moses encountered the Fire of God three different times and each time the presence of God did something different. The fire called him, lead him and changed him. God is a Covenant Keeping God!

When you experience the covenant that God has made with you your life will be transformed knowing that He keeps all of His covenants.

He is not a contract God but a covenant God. He will always perform His part. Even if you fall short He is still faithful.

Fire is something that is so fascinating. I have always enjoyed sitting around a campfire and literally just watching it burn.

The way that it changes colors depending on the heat of it and the way the flames moves upwards toward the sky.

Hebrews 12:28-29

If the fire of God is the presence of God then we must remember “a persons relationship with fire (the presence of God) determines much of the outcome of the fire (the presence of God).

• The Heat - God’s Word and the Holy Spirit
• The Oxygen - Prayer, Worship, and Dependence

Satan is real and his desire to destroy your family and the family of God is very real.

• Restored back into fellowship with God

Today we will finish the life of David. Yes he will die, but what we want to focus on is how did David live after He was restored.

David came to realize how magnificent God was after he realized how sinful he was and how forgiving God is.

The depth of our realization of our sinfulness should determine the depth of our service to the King, love for the Lord, and sacrifice for the Saviour.

The greatest evidence of restoration is not simply that God forgives us—it is that we begin living for SOMEONE bigger than ourselves.

After David’s greatest failure, the remainder of his life wasn’t about making a name for himself. It was about preparing the next generation to worship God.

Far to often we spend much of our life accumulating things, building a kingdom for ourselves, and seeking comfort for our days.

This morning we will see 5 key things that David did to prepare the next generation to worship God and how we can do them too.

You see This life that we live now is not meant to be lived for ourself but rather it is to be lived as a sacrifice to God and a service to others.

we continue our series on the Life of David we will learn that David is not perfect and neither are we. God is not looking for a life of perfection but He is looking for a heart that is set on Him.

David’s son Solomon wrote a book called Proverbs. In there he says, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” -Proverbs 4:23 The greatest battle that you and I will ever face is not on the outside of us, but it is the battle that takes place in our heart. When a man stops guarding his heart we are uncertain how far from God we can wonder and what our minds will conceive.

David has:

Been Anointed as King

Defeated Goliath

Survived Saul Hunting Him

Ruled the Souther Kingdom of Judah for 7.5 years

United Israel’s Divided Kingdom

Established Jerusalem

Experienced God’s Favor.

This is a stunning resume. This is the resume of one who seems to be great in might and self disciplined in spirit. Yet David’s Greatest battle was not against a giant, It was a battle against himself.
