In this video, I share the story of why I quit calligraphy and hand lettering, how comparing myself to other artists pulled me into a spiral, and the habits that slowly made something I loved feel stressful instead of joyful.

I also talk about what not to do when you are trying to grow in your gift, especially if you keep measuring your beginning against someone else’s middle. Sometimes the dream is not dead. Sometimes it just needs to be restarted with more grace, more patience, and a completely different attitude.

If you have been overthinking, comparing, quitting, restarting, or wondering if it is too late to try again, I hope this encourages you to start over, reset, and give yourself permission to enjoy the process again.
