In which, Jules, Mark, Sue and Brian are joined by special guest Liam Burnell, Sports Psychologist at Mindflick (https://mindflick.co.uk/) to share his experience of cricket scoring and offer some tips for scorers on how to stay positive and look after each other in the scorebox.
Liam talks about team dynamics, building confidence, creating a rapport with other officials, performance mode, scorers are athletes, support networks, resilience, mind sets, perspective, 7-second cure, the stretch zone, Samurai thinking, social interaction and assured us all that anxiety is normal.
CSU would like to offer Liam a huge vote of thanks for joining us on this podcast and we hope that you find Liam’s advice both interesting and useful.
If you are affected by anything discussed in this episode, a great source of help can be found at Opening Up Cricket (https://openingupcricket.com/) or MIND (https://www.mind.org.uk/).
In memory of Graham Paul Thorpe 01/08/1969 – 04/08/2024.
We hope that CSU provides a small way for scorers to support each other and would love to hear from any of our followers.
