Some places leave an unexpected mark on our lives. For me, one of those places was a magnificent garden on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. This is where an unexpected story of restoration captured my imagination. Life has its own ways of leaving us with barren places—a relationship changes, a business struggles, a health issue interrupts our plans, or a season simply ends before we're ready. And we're left asking, What do I do with what remains? That's where The Restoration Principle begins. Restoration isn't about returning life to exactly what it was; it's about taking what remains and rebuilding it into something strong, purposeful, and even beautiful again. It's an important principle I explore in my upcoming book, MOVE BEYOND: From Brokenness to Purpose, released later this year. This topic is so very relevant for anyone who is facing change or deciding "what's next" as parts of our lives do transform as we rebuild and repurpose.
