🎃 Gary Cooper's Uncle's Dairy Farm Has a Pumpkin Patch This WeekendGary Cooper's uncle started a dairy farm in Redmond in 1907, and this weekend you can take the kids there. The Red Barn Farm's 8th annual Fall Festival runs this weekend on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 5703 208th Ave NE. There's a pumpkin patch, a petting zoo, a barrel train and kids' activities, all around a 1925 barn that's now a King County landmark. Tickets are $12 for adults, $20 for kids 1 to 17, and free for babies under one. Pumpkins and u-pick flowers cost extra. Reservations are required. The ticket link is in the show notes and in the newsletter. https://fareharbor.com/embeds/book/redbarnfarm/items/652082/?full-items=yes🐾 Redmond's New Vet Puts Your Dog's Polaroid on the WallYour dog or cat gets its picture on the wall just for showing up. Chewy Vet Care just opened its first Washington clinic right here in Redmond, at 16595 Redmond Way, Suite 155. Staff snap a Polaroid of every pet at check-in and post it in the waiting room, and a screen outside the exam room greets your pet by name. Past the cute stuff, it's a full-service animal hospital with exams, dental care, X-rays, ultrasound and surgery. It's open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day but Wednesday. The booking link is in the show notes and in the newsletter. https://www.chewy.com/vet-care/vet-near-me/wa/redmond/16595-redmond-way-ste-155🍺 Oktoberfest Karaoke for the 50-Plus Crowd. Tomorrow from 1 to 3 p.m., the Redmond Senior & Community Center at 8703 160th Ave NE is throwing Oktoberfest Karaoke for the 50-plus crowd. There'll be music, pretzels, games and a microphone for anyone brave enough to grab it. Cheering from your seat counts too. The city asks people to register ahead through its recreation site. The city is looking for an artist or team to create matching designs for the crosswalks at West Lake Sammamish Parkway NE and NE 36th Street, right next to Idylwood Park. City crews will install them next summer. The $3,000 covers all three designs, and up to three finalists get $500 each to draft a concept. Artists living anywhere in the U.S. can apply, but finalists have to present in person at City Hall the week of December 14. You apply with one document: a short statement, a résumé and samples of past work. Applications close Sunday, October 25, at 11 p.m. Pacific.
