  • Uncomfortable ≠ Unaligned | Autonomy, Authenticity & Keeping Your Promises
    2026/07/28

When should you push through discomfort... and when is discomfort actually a sign that something is out of alignment?

In this conversation, Amy is joined by Jack from Arena System to explore the tension between autonomy, authenticity, commitment, nervous system safety, and showing up when you don't feel like it.

Inspired by Seth Godin's ideas on The Dip and his provocative statement that "authenticity is bullshit," they unpack questions rather than offer easy answers.

    Topics include:

Why uncomfortable doesn't necessarily mean unaligned
    Keeping commitments when motivation disappears
The difference between "I can't" and "I don't want to"
Parenting, TAFE, business and everyday examples
Nervous system safety versus objective safety
Why fear isn't the only path to growth
How to recognise when pushing through serves you—and when it doesn't

Rather than telling you what to think, this episode invites you to examine the questions for yourself.

If you enjoy thoughtful conversations that explore ideas without pretending to have all the answers, subscribe and join us for future episodes.

  • Exploring Identity, Contrasts, Multiples, Integration and more.
    2026/06/20

Ian and I came together to discuss the problems with profiles, the false dichotomies, the leaps people make with equivalencies and we went so much further.

As someone with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) Ian was able to bring some unique perspectives to the challenges profiles can create when using them to formulate our identity (rather than expand and explore it).

We got to meet and interact directly with several alters housed in the body of Ian. Amber, Stephanie, and 25 all graced us with their presence and insights.

We got to see the difficulties that can arise when multiple voices wish to come forth and switching becomes complicated.

If you want to follow or connect with Ian you can do so at:
