Lust isn’t only about sexual temptation. Sometimes it looks like wanting something so deeply that we begin to believe we need it to be satisfied.

We all have things we long for. Maybe it’s a different season, recognition, an answered prayer, or an opportunity we’re waiting for God to provide. The struggle begins when that desire pulls our hearts toward what God isn’t giving us, rather than trusting that He knows what we truly need.

In this episode, Angie steps into 1 John 2:16 for a broader look at lust and the cravings that can quietly compete for our hearts. We’re reminded that lasting contentment isn’t found in chasing after more, but in trusting God’s wisdom, timing, and provision.

What you’ll hear in this week’s episode

• Why lust reaches far beyond sexual temptation
• How good desires can become unhealthy when we set our hearts on having them
• What the original Greek word for “lust” teaches us about longing and craving
• Why the things we chase in our own strength can never provide lasting satisfaction
• How self-control and contentment reflect God’s work within us
