What does a wise woman build her life on?

Not perfection. Not appearances. Not money. Not what everyone else is doing. Not fear. Not even her own understanding.

She builds her life on Jesus Christ. ❤️

Mamas, I LOVED studying Proverbs this week! Honestly, Proverbs kind of sounds like a mom sometimes. 😂

“Make good choices.” “Watch your words.” “Work hard.” “Be kind.” “Listen to wisdom.” “Don't be prideful.” “Trust God.”

And basically… DON'T BE FOOLISH. 😂

But underneath all of that practical wisdom is a much deeper message: God is teaching us how to build a life.

And as mothers, we aren't only building our own lives—we are helping our children build theirs.

In this week's episode, we're talking about what it means to become a wise woman, trust God when we can't see the entire path, use words that bring peace into our homes, let Christ pour into us, and raise children whose foundation is Jesus Christ.

🏠 The Wise Man & the Foolish Man — Matthew 7:24–27 That Primary song we've sung a thousand times has such a powerful message for motherhood. The storm comes to BOTH houses. Following Christ doesn't mean storms won't come—it means we have a foundation that can withstand them.

❤️ Let Christ Pour Into You — Proverbs 1:23 Moms know what it means to pour ourselves out. We give our time, energy, sleep, prayers, service, tears, and love. But Christ also wants to pour His Spirit, wisdom, grace, peace, and strength into us.

🛤️ Trust in the Lord — Proverbs 3:5–6 Where are you putting your trust? The world? Social media? Money? Your own plans? Or Jesus Christ? We don't have to see the entire road for God to direct our path. Sometimes He gives us just the next step.

🙏 Hushing Our Fears We talk about Elder David A. Bednar's message Therefore They Hushed Their Fears and the difference between worldly fear and “the fear of the Lord.” Faith doesn't mean pretending something isn't scary. Faith is remembering that the scary thing isn't bigger than God.

💰 Wisdom Is Better Than Gold — Proverbs 16:16 Ecclesiastes reminds us how temporary so many of the things we chase really are. The perfect house, body, accomplishments, money, recognition—even the perfectly behaved children. 😂 Don't confuse maintaining your life with the purpose of your life.

🍯 Words Matter — Proverbs 15:1 & 16:24 “A soft answer turneth away wrath.” This one hits differently when you're a mom. 😂 We talk about Elder Ronald A. Rasband's Words Matter and three phrases that can transform our homes: Thank you. I'm sorry. I love you.

🕊️ Be a Peacemaker Drawing from Elder Neil L. Andersen's Following Jesus: Being a Peacemaker, we talk about responding with kindness, being slow to anger, and remembering that we don't have to attend every argument we're invited to.

👩‍👧‍👦 The Virtuous Woman — Proverbs 31:10–31 The virtuous woman isn't Pinterest Mom. She's not Instagram Mom. She's not the mom whose house is always clean and whose children never fight. 😂 Proverbs describes a woman of strength, honor, wisdom, kindness, hard work, love, and devotion to God.

Virtue isn't perfection.

Virtue is spiritual strength.

Our job isn't simply to raise children who know all the Primary answers.

We're trying to raise children who know where to go when Mom isn't standing beside them.

They need their own relationship with Christ. Their own prayers. Their own experiences with revelation. Their own testimony.

Because eventually the rain comes.

We can't build their house forever.

But we can teach them where the Rock is. ❤️

Ask yourself:

What am I building on?

Choose one area where you can become a little wiser this week. Trust God instead of fear. Speak more softly. Say “I'm sorry.” Let go of something temporary. Let Christ pour into you. Teach your child something about Jesus. Praise God for something good.

The goal isn't to become the Proverbs 31 woman overnight.

It's to become a little more like Jesus today.

“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” — Proverbs 3:6

Mama, keep building your motherhood, your home, your family, and your identity on Jesus Christ.

The rain may still come—but your foundation will already be there. ❤️
