His stories warned us about the future. He told us what was coming if we slept, and in our hubris we ignored the warnings and created the world we were afraid of. We were entertained. We thought deeply about the concepts. We found those we wanted to blame then we persecuted them.

We often talk about reality here. Is any of this real? Today’s little journey into the nature of reality begins in a chair. It is made to be comfortable but it never is. If this is your first time hearing this story about this chair you may be envisioning something sinister, something painful, and your thoughts are moving in the right direction. Your version of this sinister chair might be a bit extravagant. And I assure you it is simple.

Because in Philip K Dick’s reality it is simply a dentist chair, and a Pink Light. A light that opened his mind to a download of information. But where did it come from, and who sent it? Had he lost his mind, or was it a revelation illuminating a world that had been hidden to him and remains hidden to most of us?
