概要

Isaiah was a prophet in the 8th Century B.C and like all the Biblical prophets, he gave messages of warning and comfort to the people. In this section of the book, Isaiah is warning the people of Judah about events to come nearly 200 years in the future when they will be taken into exile by the Babylonian empire. He also gives them words of comfort saying that God will eventually rescue them and make with them an eternal covenant of peace.

Isaiah also predicts the Messiah to come, the suffering servant who will die for the sins of the world; Jesus. This is why many people call the Book of Isaiah the fifth gospel.

The prophetic poems given to Isaiah from God are some of the most beautiful in the whole Bible. I hope that this reading gives you comfort and leads you to read the whole book for yourself.
