We're catching up on all the things this week including Fran's recovery, our time speaking at Jesus & Jammies, a few words we absolutely cannot stand, and a new Bible study Angela is loving.
Then we turn to Psalm 139 and a question that hits a little closer to home: If God already knows everything about us, why are we still tempted to hide?
We're talking about the important difference between conviction and condemnation, how to recognize the voice of shame, and why the Holy Spirit's conviction is always an invitation to repentance, freedom, and a closer relationship with God. Sometimes seeing what's really in our hearts is uncomfortable (and even embarrassing) but God doesn't reveal what needs to change so we'll run from Him. He invites us to bring it into the light.
Psalm 139 reminds us that we are already fully known. The question is whether we're willing to stop hiding and pray, "Search me, God, and know my heart."
Because when conviction makes us want to hide, we don't have to hide from Him. We can learn to hide in Him instead.
Each episode is recorded on the campus of Union University! If you have a student looking at colleges, schedule a visit and let us know you are coming.
