Why do we think getting help means we’re cheating?
A woman will happily use IVF if she needs medical support to get pregnant.
We hire lawyers when we need help navigating the legal system, or accountants when we need help with taxes.
We understand that using the right tool or getting expert support doesn’t mean we didn’t do the work.
And yet, when it comes to our health—especially weight loss and metabolic health—we can feel like needing medication, coaching, or other support somehow means we failed.
In this episode, I’m getting a little spicy about the idea that you should be able to “do it on your own,” and why we need to stop moralizing diet, exercise, medication, and the process of healing.
Because sometimes your body needs more support.
Sometimes your life circumstances mean you need more support.
And sometimes the most self-trusting thing you can do is admit that you don’t have to figure it all out alone.
You don't get extra points for doing it the hard way.
When you're ready to heal your body after trauma, so that you can create a life that fully lights you up inside, I can help.
