Have you ever felt heaviness, fullness, or pressure in your pelvis during a workout, after being on your feet all day, or while lifting something heavy? And immediately wondered… “Wait, is this normal? Is something falling out? Am I doing something wrong?!” 😅 Here's something I want you to know: Pressure isn't automatically bad. Your body actually NEEDS pressure to move, lift, breathe, and function. But not all sensations of pelvic pressure mean the same thing. In this episode of Pelvic Floor, Core & More, we're breaking down the difference between normal pressure during movement and symptoms that might be related to pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic venous disorders (sometimes called pelvic congestion syndrome), pelvic floor muscle tension, or other factors. We'll also talk about why you don't necessarily need to stop exercising when you notice pressure—and how to start exploring what your body might need instead. Because the goal isn't to eliminate pressure or fear movement. It's to understand what you're feeling and learn how to respond. 💛 In This Episode We Explore Why intra-abdominal pressure is a normal and necessary part of breathing, lifting, and exercise. The difference between pressure inside your abdomen and sensations of pelvic heaviness, fullness, or discomfort. How pelvic organ prolapse can contribute to feelings of heaviness, bulging, or pressure. What pelvic venous disorders (PeVD) are and why they can sometimes cause deep pelvic aching or heaviness. How pelvic floor muscle tension or difficulty relaxing can contribute to pelvic discomfort and pressure sensations. Why pelvic pressure doesn't automatically mean you have a weak pelvic floor—or that you need more Kegels. How breathing, bracing, exercise intensity, fatigue, and daily habits can influence symptoms. Simple ways to explore movement modifications without avoiding exercise altogether. When recurring or worsening pelvic pressure deserves an individualized evaluation. Why This Matters So many women are told to either strengthen their pelvic floor, relax it, or avoid activities that create pressure. But what if we're asking the wrong question? Instead of “How do I stop creating pressure?” we can start asking: **“What am I actually feeling, and what might be contributing to it?” A sensation of heaviness during exercise doesn't automatically mean you're damaging your pelvic floor. And pelvic pressure isn't always caused by prolapse. Different symptoms can have different contributing factors, which is why understanding the bigger picture matters. You deserve more than a one-size-fits-all answer—and you shouldn't have to be afraid of movement to take care of your body. 🌿 Ready to Better Understand Your Body?
