  • Print On Demand Without the Chaos
    2026/06/05
Print On Demand sounds simple: sell the product, decorate it when ordered, and ship it out. But for apparel decorators, the reality can quickly become messy if there is no system behind it. This week, Terry and Aaron welcome David Conner from STAHLS’ Fulfill Engine to talk about what is actually working in POD for small shops, decorators, and distributors. David has been involved in Print On Demand since 2014 and has seen it evolve from manual setup and storefront headaches into smarter fulfillment workflows. We’ll talk about where POD fits, where shops get into trouble, and how to build focused, profitable programs without chasing chaos. Whether you are already running online stores, thinking about POD, working with team shops, supporting corporate merch, or just wondering if this model belongs in your business, this episode will help you think more clearly about the systems, pricing, products, and customers that make Print On Demand work. Your business doesn’t need more tasks. It needs clarity, alignment, and a structure that supports you. • DTF Niche Ideas Part 2: More Markets and More Profit Margin
    2026/05/29
Last week, Aaron and Terry opened up the conversation around niche market ideas for DTF printers, and as usually happens with a good 2 Regular Guys topic, they only made it through a handful of the ideas. This week, Erich Campbell jumps in with Terry while Aaron is away at DAX Tampa to keep the conversation going. They’ll pick up where the first show left off and explore more niche market opportunities DTF printers can use to stand out, create clearer offers, and serve specific customers better. From overlooked customer groups to smart ways decorators can use DTF transfers to expand what they already offer, this episode is all about finding focused opportunities instead of trying to be everything to everyone. Whether you print DTF in-house, buy transfers, or use other decoration methods, these ideas will help you think differently about markets, messaging, and profitable growth. Your business doesn’t need more tasks. It needs clarity, alignment, and a structure that supports you. The Business Builder Accelerator is a guided 12-week experience that helps you uncover what actually matters, make confident decisions, and build a foundation you can grow on. Explore the experience and sign up for a free clarity call –> OSG.link/Builder News If you have anything newsworthy you would like us to share, please email details to info@2regularguys.com. Use the subject line “Weekly News.” Dad Joke Terry: There’s an island off the coast of Italy with 5 million Sicilians That’s the biggest number I’ve ever heard 5 million-sicilian DTF Niche Ideas Part 2: More Markets Terry: I’ll repeat what Aaron shared before we jumped in last week. DTF is not the niche by itself. DTF is not really a niche anymore. It is a production method. The niche is who you serve with it and what problem you solve for them. Are you helping gyms launch merch drops? Are you helping trades businesses outfit crews quickly? Are you supporting school spirit stores? Are you creating easy reorder programs for small brands? That is where the opportunity gets clearer. So let’s dive into as many ideas as we can get there today. As always with our niche market discussions, we’re not suggesting you pick number 5 and run with it. We’re attempting to stimulate thoughts and ideas about your passions and opportunities Memorial and Celebration of Life Apparel – This needs to be handled with care, but it is a real unmet need. Families often want shirts, blankets, totes, or keepsakes quickly for memorial walks, reunions, celebrations of life, or fundraisers. DTF can reproduce full-color images and meaningful artwork on small quantities. The differentiator is service, compassion, speed, and making the process easy when people are overwhelmed.Rescue, Foster, and Animal Advocacy Merch – Animal rescues, foster networks, breed-specific groups, shelters, and adoption events always need fundraising and awareness. DTF is ideal for colorful, emotional designs with pet photos, breed artwork, slogans, event themes, and small fundraiser runs. The niche could be “fundraising merch for animal rescue groups.” Youth Sports Parent Sideline Shops – Not just team uniforms. Think parent gear, grandparent gear, sibling shirts, tournament weekend shirts, coach gifts, and end-of-season items. The need is identity and belonging. DTF lets you create fun, full-color designs with names, numbers, mascots, and sport-specific themes without big setup requirements. Workplace Culture and Internal Team Drops – This could be for dental offices, real estate teams, salons, vet clinics, restaurants, banks, insurance offices, manufacturing teams, and church staff. These groups may not need traditional uniforms, but they do need culture. Think onboarding shirts, anniversary shirts, team-building event apparel, holiday drops, internal campaigns, and customer appreciation items. DTF fits because these orders are often small, seasonal, and design-heavy. Outdoor Micro-Community Merch – Target very specific outdoor groups: disc golf leagues, pickleball clubs, hiking groups, Jeep clubs, kayak groups, fishing tournaments, hunting camps, cycling crews, running clubs, and campground communities. These groups love identity-based apparel and often buy around events, seasons, and trips. DTF allows highly themed, full-color designs with low minimums. The decorator’s edge is understanding the language and culture of the group.Pop-Up Fundraiser Stores for Small Causes – This is for families raising money for medical expenses, youth travel, mission trips, community projects, school trips, nonprofit campaigns, and local emergencies. The need is not just printing. The need is making fundraising simple. DTF works because you can offer limited-time designs, collect orders first, produce after the campaign closes, and avoid inventory.Small Business Grand Opening and Rebrand Kits – New restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, gyms, barbershops, salons, mobile ...

  • DTF Niche Gold: Finding the Markets Others Are Missing
    2026/05/22
DTF printing has opened the door to more opportunities than ever, but trying to serve everyone can quickly turn into a race to the bottom. This week, Terry and Aaron bring back one of their most popular topics, Niche Market Ideas, with a special focus on DTF printing professionals. We’ll talk through real niche opportunities we’ve seen in shops, events, and travels, plus fresh ideas decorators can use to stand out in a crowded market. From customer groups with unmet needs to creative ways to use technology, service, and marketing as your advantage. Whether you print DTF, screen print, embroider, sublimate, or decorate in another way, this conversation will spark ideas for finding better customers, clearer messaging, and more focused opportunities for growth. Your business doesn’t need more tasks. It needs clarity, alignment, and a structure that supports you. The Business Builder Accelerator is a guided 12-week experience that helps you uncover what actually matters, make confident decisions, and build a foundation you can grow on. Use the subject line “Weekly News.” https://youtu.be/aetc2FOb36s Dad Joke From Regulator Jacque Granquist with Circle G Branding in Wisconsin How was Rome divided up? With Caesars (Scissors) DTF Niche Gold Terry: Opening angle: We’ve done “Niche Market Ideas” shows before because decorators are always looking for new opportunities. But this one is a little different because DTF has lowered the barrier to producing short-run, colorful, customized apparel. That creates opportunity, but it also creates a lot of noise. If everyone can say, “We can print that,” the real question becomes, “Why should they choose you?” Aaron: At the DAX shows this year, including the one I’m heading to in Tampa next week, I have been teaching a class about the myth of “everyone is my customer”. When we think that way, we create a problem: A lot of decorators get into trouble because DTF makes it feel like every job is a good job. Small orders, weird art, last-minute requests, random one-offs, local businesses, Etsy sellers, teams, schools, family reunions, all of it feels possible. But possible does not always mean profitable or strategic. The goal is not to print for everyone. The goal is to become more valuable to the right someone. Terry: With the ideas today, we hope that you are asking yourself this entire show: How do you stand out? A good way to frame this is that standing out usually comes from one or more of five areas: the customer you serve, the technique you are great at, the technology you use, the services you wrap around the product, or the way you market yourself. For DTF shops, the product might be similar from shop to shop, but the niche, service model, turnaround, artwork help, ordering process, or customer experience can be what makes you different. Aaron: So, as we dive in, we want to be very clear: DTF is not the niche by itself. “I offer DTF” is not really a niche anymore. Micro-Brand Launch Kits – This is for creators, local influencers, small apparel brands, podcast hosts, YouTubers, and community personalities who want to test merch without sitting on boxes of inventory. The opportunity is to sell a starter kit: 12 to 24 pieces across a few designs, a size run, and maybe a simple reorder plan. DTF is perfect because it lets them test multiple full-color designs without big setup costs. Local Service Crew Refresh Programs – Think HVAC, landscaping, plumbing, pest control, mobile detailers, cleaning companies, roofing crews, and food trucks. The unmet need is not really shirts. It is looking credible when their team shows up at a home or business. DTF works well because these companies often need names, logos, sleeve prints, safety colors, hoodies, hats, and quick replacements for new hires. The niche offer could be a “new hire apparel pack” or a “crew refresh subscription.”Event Vendor Booth Merch – Every farmers market, craft fair, comic con, trade show, and local festival has vendors who need branded apparel, display items, tote bags, and sometimes merch to sell. These people often think about their booth table, signage, and product, but forget how they look as a brand. DTF can help them create booth uniforms, small-batch merch, and impulse-buy items without huge inventory risk. School Club and Small Team Spirit Packs – ...
