We each have a strict imaginary budget of $300 million to buy a Director, a Lead Star, a Villain, and an IP—but we can’t afford the best of everything. If we blow the budget on a Tier 1 director like Nolan or Spielberg, we might be forced to cast a bargain-bin star or use a public domain character.
