One of our greatest battles between giants over Baby G is about to begin! On this week’s episode of 2 Black Guys Talk Godzilla, Aaron and Terence dig into the oddly titled non-sequel that is 1993’s Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II, directed by Takao Okawara. Yes, the mechanical monster is back, but completely unrelated to Simians. Instead, we have a G-Force who have built this machine to fight back against the King of the Monsters. With that in mind, Terence and Aaron have plenty to discuss about the return of a couple of popular enemies, the introduction of Baby G, and the continued overlap of story elements in the Heisei Era. The duo also provides some updates on the show and future plans. A Queen will live, die, and repeat for this series of films! On this week’s episode of 2 Black Guys Talk Godzilla, Aaron and Terence cover a separate trilogy away from Godzilla that served as the actual conclusion of the Heisei Era. These movies are 1996’s Rebirth of Mothra, directed by Okihiro Yoneda; 1997’s Rebirth of Mothra II, directed by Kunio Miyoshi; and 1998’s Rebirth of Mothra III, directed by Yoneda again. Terence and Aaron have more than enough to dive into here, including variations of Mothra, how these films reveal more of her universe, the rivalry between her dedicated twins and their evil sister Belvera, and more.
