In this episode, we dive into the difference between average covers and truly great covers, and why some artists manage to reinvent a song while others just karaoke it with a bigger budget, before moving into the latest music news and a discussion about songs from movie soundtracks that ended up being better remembered than the films themselves. From there, we get into our hopes, expectations, and cautious optimism about the upcoming Street Fighter movie, including how it might improve on—or at least learn from—the 1994 version, which set a bar that is, depending on your perspective, either historically bad or weirdly entertaining. To wrap things up, we preview the next episode of WonderMan and where we think the story is heading, which will probably prove that our predictions are once again only accidentally correct at best.
