Medical moms get sick too.
But when you're the person who manages medications, appointments, symptoms, school issues, insurance, and all the little things your medically complex child needs, taking a sick day can feel almost impossible.
In this quick, honest episode of Medical Moms Anonymous, we're talking about what happens when the caregiver is the one who needs care.
You don't have to keep everything running perfectly while you're sick. You can ask for help. You can cancel things. You can order dinner. You can let the house get messy. You can rest.
And most importantly, you can remember that you are more than a caregiver. You are God's child, too.
Jesus told His disciples, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." (Mark 6:31)
Maybe rest isn't something we earn after we've finished everything. Maybe sometimes, rest is simply acknowledging that we are human—and trusting God with what we cannot carry today.
So, medical mom, if you're sick right now: you have permission to take the sick day.
(apologies that this one is unpolished...I'm sick after all!)
