13elephants: Sleeping Daze… Awakening the third space: S2: Episode 012:
Today, I am told sleep deprivation will cause all manner of ills, sleep deprivation will potentially cause possible heart disease, lung disease, possible catastrophic breakdown of all internal organs.
Today, I am told sleep deprivation will impact on my relationships, where fatigue will set in, where potential of dementia, of Alzheimer’s disease may be increased because of lack of sleep.
Today, the world tells me through social media, through select research - that sleep is topical, is now viewed by some as more important than any other function, when the measure of good health is the question, we seek answers to.
Yet, we live in a world that makes it impossible to sleep, we live in a world of ‘shinny’ things, of ‘bells’ and ‘sirens’ of 10 second clips, of scrolling, of instant gratification 24 hours a day.
Our world today is a contradiction, telling us one thing and making it impossible to achieve that one thing, because the world is geared to provide us with an alternative medicine, a false medicine.
