Have you ever found yourself holding onto something someone said or did, even weeks or months after it happened? Maybe you’ve been making assumptions, quietly building resentment, or acting like everything is fine when something still feels unresolved.
In this episode of Yes, Mujer, Build It, I’m sharing a four-step process I’ve been using for years to clear resentment or negative energy, communicate honestly, and create healthier relationships. Whether it’s with a friend, partner, family member, colleague, or business partner, I’ll walk you through how to take responsibility for your part, share your experience without blame, make a request or establish a boundary, and open the conversation to understanding.
In this episode, I’m sharing:
- How unresolved conflict and unspoken resentment affect our relationships
- How to take responsibility instead of placing blame
- How to communicate your experience without turning assumptions into facts
- The difference between making a request and setting a boundary
- How to have difficult conversations that invite honesty and understanding
- Why clearing resentment doesn’t always mean reconciliation
- How to stop accumulating frustrations and create healthier relationship patterns
The 4 Steps to Clear in a Relationship
- Take Responsibility: Acknowledge your part in the situation, including how you communicated and what you could have done differently, instead of starting with blame.
- Share Your Experience: Explain what happened from your perspective and how you felt. Focus on your experience rather than treating your assumptions about the other person as facts.
- Make a Request or Set a Boundary: Clearly communicate what you need from the other person or establish what you will do moving forward if a situation continues.
- Open the Conversation: Invite the other person to share their perspective, ask questions, and express what they may have been holding back. Your role is to listen and make room for an honest dialogue.
Growth Work Question : What have you been accumulating in your relationships that it’s time to communicate?
Tune in and learn how to clear the space between you and the people in your life, one honest conversation at a time.
