Marty Coelho recalls leaving a late-night seafood cleanup shift, having his car hit by a train, and walking away without injuries. Now working in college advancement and the foundation at College of the Redwoods, he joins Scott Hammond to trace his path from teaching at Humboldt State to national fundraising work with Relay For Life. They discuss the student hardships he sees in scholarship applications, the rising cost of getting college athletes to competitions, and the local donors who help support them. Along the way, they trade concert memories and reflect on what it means to serve your community.
