Something may be lurking beneath the lakes of Oklahoma—and something else is wandering Pennsylvania’s hemlock forests, crying uncontrollably about its face. This week, we’re investigating two wonderfully bizarre lesser-known cryptids: the allegedly enormous Oklahoma Octopus and the tragically damp Squonk. We dig into where these stories came from, what evidence actually exists, and why a cryptid does not have to be biologically real to become culturally immortal.
