Episode 041: In this episode, we delve into the rich spiritual significance of breath in the Catholic tradition and introduce a faith-based approach to breathwork designed specifically for Catholics. We explore biblical references about the breath and how it symbolizes the Holy Spirit and God's presence in our lives. We also look at saints and doctors of the Church such as St. Augustine, St. Hildegard of Bingen, and St. John of the Cross who emphasized the importance of breath in spiritual and physical health.
We'll define what a Catholic breathwork practice is and how it's different than secular/New Age practices, and introduce Sanctus Breath™, the first clinical breathwork practice for Catholics!
