Daniel Thompson spent his twenties throwing 60,000-person music festivals and his thirties trying to answer a harder question: where do you actually live? He's the co-founder and CEO of Noma Collective, which ran 45 pop-up villages across 32 countries in 2025, and the founder of Minimum Viable Society, a one-year experiment to bridge the gap between pop-up villages and permanent cities. In our fourth episode he sits down with Nico and Jeremy to talk about why there is no perfect place, only a stack of them, why like-minded people alone tend to build a monoculture instead of a society, and what he learned losing an entire project in Belize three months before COVID.

We get into the four stages of the nomad journey and where "multi-local" comes from, why Prospera's regulatory sandbox let him take 15 families and 35 kids to Roatán, the ten buckets of people a functioning society needs, temporary infrastructure and desire pathways as a way to build places that don't fight their residents, subscription economics at $400 a month and land that vests over three years, plus the cold start problem and the party-starter theory of how any of it gets off the ground.
