The new podcast series Beyond Borders opens a dialogue that transcends boundaries—geographical, cultural, and personal. Inspired by the spirit of the International Documentary Festival of Kastellorizo, each episode features voices that dare to challenge conventions and redefine what connects us.

In the second episode, we are honored to welcome Claudia Bucher, Commissioning Editor at ARTE G.E.I.E. Claudia Bucher is a highly experienced commissioning editor who has been instrumental in shaping ARTE’s documentary programming since 2001. Since 2013, she has headed the THEMA and Geopolitics department at ARTE’s headquarters in Strasbourg, where she curates and oversees high-impact, in-depth documentaries focused on current affairs, investigative journalism, and global political developments. Her editorial vision continues to define ARTE’s commitment to thoughtful, boundary-pushing storytelling.

Beyond her work at ARTE, Claudia Bucher is an active board member of the EBU Documentary Experts Group, where she helps guide the strategic vision for public service documentaries across Europe. She has also been a long-standing tutor at the Documentary Campus Masterschool, mentoring emerging filmmakers in developing and positioning their projects for international markets and audiences.
