Healing Family, sometimes the conflict starts before the conversation ever does.
I notice a different tone.
A shorter reply.
A little distance.
A change in energy.
And before I ask one question, my mind may already be deciding what it means.
But here is what I’m learning:
I can be right about what I noticed and still be wrong about what I decided it meant.
📖 “He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.” — Proverbs 18:13 KJV
Tonight we are talking about what happens when our assumptions begin relating to people for us—when interpretation becomes “fact,” when old experiences influence present conclusions, and when we start responding to things the other person never actually said.
We’re also getting into the humility of clarification.
Because sometimes I have to be willing to ask:
“What did you mean?”
And sometimes I have to be humble enough to hear:
“That is not what I meant.”
…and allow the truth to change the conclusion I formed first.
🔥 Tonight’s anchor:
I do not want to build a relationship with my assumptions about you. I want to learn how to relate to who you actually are.
Healing Family, come ready to listen, reflect, and check yourself with me. 💛
Community Conversation:
Which is harder for you—asking for clarity or accepting that your first interpretation may have been wrong?
No whole story required. Just honesty. 🌿🦋
