Emotions are fundamentally evolutionary survival mechanisms. Fear prompts us to flee from danger; anger drives us to defend our boundaries. In the modern world, however, emotions reflect our internal mental bandwidth.

情緒本質上是人類演化而來的生存機制。恐懼驅使我們逃離危險，憤怒驅使我們捍衛邊界。然而，在現代社會中，情緒不再只是單純的生理防禦，它更是內在心理狀態的投射。

Those who regulate their emotions have learned to create a deliberate pause between a stimulus and their reaction.
