Richardson, a Dallas suburb, is one of the first US cities where Amazon is testing Prime Air drone delivery. Dozens of drones a day fly from a distribution center; each is about 5 ft by 5 ft and weighs 83 lb, hovers about 12 ft above the ground and drops the box. Footage shows a package dropped into a pool and a drone crashing into an apartment building. Residents call their neighbourhood a 'drone highway' and hate the noise, the sight and the cameras ('Can we not have one day of peace?'); complaints to the city council, Amazon and the FAA got little traction, and they now write to officials in other cities calling the programme a 'disaster'.
