Then I thought I would honor our relationship motif — delivering something subliminally funny, deeply submerged in inside references and secret handshakes. Maybe not.

My next guest made me particularly anxious (and want to rise to the occasion) when she made a point to say "I want to hear this monologue" (referring to the opening introduction, where I honor my guest). What you're hearing now.

But I think I found the hook — the theme and motif of our connection is rooted in communication. Our relationship started with a miscommunication, and overcompensating or not, we decided going forward the connection will be firmly rooted in improving our communication.
