Brought to you by Penguin.

Do you have unwanted thoughts or urges? Do you feel driven to do things just to feel okay? And is all of this taking up way too much of your time?

Welcome to the OCD club nobody wants to join. But the good news is there is a way out and this book will show you how. Drawing on a highly effective, evidence-based treatment called Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), you’ll be introduced to a step-by-step plan that has helped thousands of people to take their life back – and now you can too. You’ll discover:

  • How OCD works on the brain so you are one step ahead
  • A symptom tracker to find out what you’re dealing with
  • What your core fear is and how to connect to your values
  • Self-compassion strategies to manage setbacks

See this book as your very own OCD coach and therapist, supporting you every step of the way throughout your recovery. It’s time to stop living by OCD’s rule and break free.

批評家のレビュー

This book will frustrate your OCD. Nathan has taken the essence of what OCD is, of what ERP is and how to apply ERP to OCD and made it digestible and understandable. You will not need another book on OCD after this one.
A good self-help book makes the reader feel like the author is right there with them on the journey. In Your OCD Will Hate This Book, Nathan Peterson does this right from the start by directly addressing your scepticism in a truly disarming way. He then clearly and thoughtfully lays out the most effective and evidence-based techniques to change your relationship with OCD through behaviour. To make a book feel like a real chat, and then press the point that talking about it just won’t cut it, is to crack the self-help code.
Nathan has done something powerful here. He doesn’t just explain OCD. He calls it out. And this is what it takes to take OCD down. The most powerful part of this book is how he exposes OCD’s predictable 'playbook.' Nathan outlines the sneaky, convincing lines OCD feeds you to keep you trapped in doubt and urgency, leaving you feeling understood and empowered. This book is bold, clear and deeply practical. I’d recommend it to anyone ready to stop negotiating with OCD and start reclaiming their life. (Kimberley Quinlan, LMFT, host of the 'Your Anxiety Toolkit' podcast)
