Factfulness: The stress-reducing habit of carrying only opinions for which you have strong supporting facts. When asked simple questions about global trends - why the world's population is increasing; how many young women go to school; how many of us live in poverty - we systematically get the answers wrong. So wrong that a chimpanzee choosing answers at random will consistently outguess journalists, Nobel laureates, and investment bankers.

Golden Globe nominee Scarlett Johansson ( Lost in Translation, Girl with a Pearl Earring) brings a palpable sense of joy and exuberance to her performance of Lewis Carroll's enduring classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The young and imaginative Alice grows weary of her storybook, one "without pictures or conversations", and follows a hasty hare underground - to come face to face with a host of strange and fantastic characters.
あらすじ・解説
Maybe it was a grandparent or a teacher or a colleague. Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching and gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it. For Mitch Albom, that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly 20 years ago. Maybe, like Mitch, you lost track of this mentor as you made your way, and the insights faded. Wouldn't you like to see that person again, ask the bigger questions that still haunt you?
Mitch Albom had that second chance. He rediscovered Morrie in the last months of the older man's life. Knowing he was dying of ALS, or motor neurone disease, Morrie visited Mitch in his study every Tuesday, just as they used to back in college. Their rekindled relationship turned into one final "class": lessons in how to live. This is a chronicle of their time together, through which Mitch shares Morrie's lasting gift with the world.Tuesdays with Morrieに寄せられたリスナーの声

Beau-ti-ful Story!!
As soon as I purchased it, I started listening, and enjoyed each and every minute of it.
In my opinion, it is extremely well written and on the top of that the narration is outstanding, too.
It is great to listen to the story narrated by the author, and he reads the book beautfully.
This is a true story which makes the book even more special, I think.
Thought provoking, inspiring and the author makes you laugh here and there as well.
I hope you enjoy the book just as much as I did, if you decide to get it.

Pragmatic words on difficult issues
Living and dying well provide many challenges that continue to baffle us. "Tuesdays with Morrie" gives some stimulating insights through the recounting of conversations between Mitch and his old college teacher Morrie as Morrie dies of Lou Gerig's disease. The book broaches difficult topics without unbelievable hype or off-putting sentimentality. It is a great listen.

Mortality
We live as if we will never die and die as if we have never lived. A very touching and moving story. We are so engrossed with life that we fail to realize that one day we will all die. According to Wordsworth, getting and spending we lay waste our powers.
This book forced me to think more about my own mortality. I was forced to think about life's meanings.
The advice given by Morris makes so much sense to me. 1) Love our family 2) Help our community 3) Get involve in something greater than us, that is leave a legacy.
I strongly recommend this book.

tuesdays with Morrie
If my friend asked if she could borrow this book I would say no. I wouldn't even make excuses of feel guilty about it. I would rush online and buy her a copy to be sent as a random, but not truly altruistic, present. We both need our own copies, for this is a book to return to time and time again. This is no "I've read it, what's next?" book. This true story reminds me not only why I read but also why every 60 seconds of every minute is precious. An old college professor (Morrie) is dying of an incurable condition. In his final months a former student (Mitch) reaches out to him and they rekindle what was once a very profound relationship. We learn about Morrie's highly respected life before he got sick and how Mitch has been living in the fast lane, yet has seemingly lost his way. Despite promises Mitch hasn't kept in touch. He heard about Morrie's illness on TV. When Mitch loses his job he has the gift of time; that he chooses to spend this with his old ‘coach' for who time is so limited offers one of this book's profound teachings. We don't always appreciate the simple things in life. Mitch and Morrie settle into an old pattern of spending Tuesday's together in class. This time the classroom is Morrie's front room and the subject is The Meaning of life. The book flows effortlessly; it is almost poetic. Once we have settled into it, each chapter represents another Tuesday, and another lesson: "The tenth Tuesday we talk about Marriage." In some respects it is reminiscent of Kahlil Gibran's ‘The Prophet'. But this is a dialogue, not just with a wise man, but with a man acutely facing his own mortality. Morrie's gift is that he sees hims lucky; he sees opportunity when others would only see sadness. His learning has never stopped. Mitch too seems lucky as he has a second chance. ponder. If you want to explore what's important to a brave man, at the end of life's long journey, I urge you to read this book. Just don't go lending it to anyone.

Hmmmmm
Selected on the back of the great reviews and as someone who likes to learn in life, improve myself and others around me, I thought it would be a great choice.
I'm sort of left a bit perplexed. For sure it was someone's experience and story but I felt something was missing- whether it was he structure of the chapters I don't know, but felt it could have been laid out better with "life's lessons"
The only take away I can see are;
- death comes to all, enjoy what you have
- don't live in the past
Wanted to enjoy it more but felt something was missing.

Amazingly uplifting and eye opening for 2021
It’s strange... we can get locked in the day to day running of our lives and don’t notice them blend into weeks, months and years.
Morrie’s upbeat and positive attitude are so admiring! This book leaves you feeling like you have a friend, someone to share a connection and engage with even when things around you might be awful (it’s 2021 after all).
Certainly not a choice I would have sought out but I’m so glad for the recommendation to listen. I’m sure each listen can take a huge amount from the book, not least a lasting connection to a person I never got to meet RIP Morrie.

I recently heard Mitch present at a seminar for 1600 chiropractors in San Francisco and he moved the whole crowd with the way he told the story. I was moved to listen to Mitch tell the whole story, and to hear Mitch and Morrie speaking on the recording at the end was absolutely something else.
I feel like I know Morrie and Mitch. It's hard to get that from reading a story.
I'd recommend this to people of all ages. It's like a real life 7 habits of highly successful people, but with absolute focus on the humanity of life.

Nice story if you slow it down
The narration is ridiculously fast for no apparent reason. Once I changed the playback speed to 0.8x it was much more relaxing to listen to and I was able to enjoy the story and try to absorb the lessons.
Morrie was an amazing man with incredible inner strength and generosity. We could all be a little better by trying to emulate people like him. And we could be happier if we practice gratitude for things many of us take for granted, like being able-bodied and/or relatively free of pain.

Wow. Just wow.
Not going to lie, I was a little unsure of this book when I started it - I found the narration too fast, and the focus seemed to be primarily on the narrator. But as the book progressed, I began to see how it all tied in together, and the fast pace at the start of the book started to serve as a stark contrast as Morrie’s strength began to dwindle. This is a book that left me crying, smiling, and looking at the world from an entirely different perspective. 10/10 recommendation.
