They say that pessimists are rarely disappointed, and that’s a view Jake Mason wholeheartedly embraces. Therefore, it comes as no great surprise when misfortune visits him three times in just a few months, leaving Jake at his lowest-ever.
As his pessimism takes hold, Jake concludes that he’s failed miserably at life. He then finds himself alone on a railway bridge late one evening, and for a moment, considers an unthinkable solution to his problems.
