概要

When sixteen-year-old Zoe Williams discovers she can connect with silenced voices from history and glimpse dystopian futures, she realizes she's been chosen as the unprecedented second Guardian of a magical bookmark. While her counterpart Milo Parker travels to historical censorship events, Zoe's unique abilities reveal an urgent truth: they're facing a threat that requires both past knowledge and future awareness.

As their small town of Oakwood becomes ground zero for HarmonyAI—a system that begins by "optimizing" communication before advancing to neural interfaces that guide thoughts themselves—Zoe and Milo must unite a group of determined teens called the Analog Rebels. Using typewriters, film cameras, and handwritten journals to document what digital records can't preserve, they race to expose the true nature of this invasive technology.

Guided by the posthumous wisdom of Eleanor Parker and librarian Ms. Rivera, the Guardians discover a hidden Repository of silenced voices beneath their library. When they learn that Dr. Chen—the brilliant but misguided architect behind HarmonyAI—was once considered for a Guardian role herself before choosing control over preservation, they realize this conflict is deeply personal.

As neural interfaces are implemented throughout their school and thought itself becomes subject to algorithmic "guidance," Zoe and Milo work to assemble Eleanor's final countermeasure. In a race against digital erasure and thought control, they must find a third path between unrestricted expression and algorithmic censorship—one that preserves both safety and freedom.

The Unwritten World is a timely YA dystopian thriller that explores the frontiers of digital consciousness, the power of silenced voices, and the courage required to protect the most fundamental human right: the freedom to think.
